Cold Canadian winters call for more than just some leather and rubber. Not only do we need something cute to get us through those dreary months, but between the snow, ice rain and hail, it can get miserably cold.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve come across some winter boots that are sure to brighten up the darkest months of the year — and with the holidays just around the corner, there’s no better time to share them. (Hint, hint.)
1. Teva Jordenelle Boots, $200.
Perfect for wet mornings and winter sports, these high-tech boots will keep your feet warm and you from slipping. They have a removable Thinsulate liner and a totally waterproof outer shell. They also fold up super small, perfect for snowy winter getaways.
2. The North Face Shellista Lace Luxe, $200.
Talk about walking in a winter wonderland! These snowflake-patterned boots are a morning commute’s best friend. The PrimaLoft® Eco insulation will protect your tootsies when the temperature drops (up to -25°F), while the pop of turquoise works as a reminder that spring is just around the corner.
3. UGG Rommy for Women, $395.
You might be thinking…UGGs? Really? Firstly, let me tell you that I still love my UGGs (please, no judgment) but these newer, beautified versions are fantastic. They provide the same comfort and warmth that we’ve come to expect from the brand, but they’ve updated the look with laces and a more structured shape.
4. Sorel Women’s Chipahko Felt Boot, $250.
When you think of Sorel boots, you probably envision the classic rubber sole with laces and fur trimming. This year, Sorel has done something a little bit different, but just as great. These stain-and-rain repellent boots are made of wool, guaranteed to keep your feet warm all winter long.
5. Cougar Pillow Boot, $270.
I had the pleasure of trying a pair of these boots on last week at the Cougar pop-up truck (visit and you could star in their next campaign!), and quite honestly, once I put them on, I didn’t want to take them off.
