Each week, we’re picking a favourite dress from Mother of the Bride and showing you how you can get the look. And to make it even sweeter, Terrie (co-owner of T. Carolyn Fashions) will be sharing all of her dress-picking secrets.

Slice.ca: Tell us about this dress.
Terrie: It’s a strapless intricately hand-beaded chiffon over taffeta mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline, dropped waistline, three-dimensional flower accents that are split down the skirt and sweep train. It has a matching shawl with beaded tassels.  Optional straps are included.  It’s shown here in light bronze.

Slice.ca: How did Diane end up in this gown?
Terrie: Diane brought her very opinionated sisters along with her to help her select a dress and keep her budget in check. Her sisters saw this gorgeous couture gown on a mannequin and insisted she try it on.

Slice.ca: Tell us why this gown works for Diane.
Terrie: Diane is tall and has a great figure.  This gown showcases these assets. Light bronze isn’t a colour everyone can wear, but Diane looks truly beautiful in it. The three-dimensional flower accents and hand-beading on this gown are the icing on the cake!  They provide amazing texture and detail. There is a lot going on with this gown, but it’s monochromatic so it doesn’t give the appearance of being too busy.  It just looks regal, and Diane looks stunning!
