Thank goodness The Mistress is being played back to back, because after one episode I already wanted more and episode two had me on the edge of my seat. This episode introduced us to Sophia, who started her relationship without knowing that her dream man was married. Once the truth was revealed, Sophia naively figured he would get a divorce. Flash forward eight years (through the birth of their daughter!), Sophia is still living with her mother, waiting for her ring.
Were any of you as appalled as I was when she finally called him and he had the audacity to yell at her? She spent eight and a half years doing anything and everything he wanted and he can’t even let her have this? Listening as he goes from passive to aggressive to condescending makes you want to give Sophia every bit of strength you have to help her get out. And it all comes to a head when he asks “OK, what do you want me to say, I’m sorry or something or what?” In that moment Sophia knew it was over, she got her closure…on her own terms.
We got the lowdown from Sophia on her life after The Mistress. See what she had to say below:
Slice: What is your current relationship status?
S: Single! I’m just taking some time off, away from any kind of relationship. I have been concentrating on making myself happy and just enjoying life.
Slice: Since the show, have you been in contact with your MM?
S: Since the show I have been in contact with my MM. He is the father of our daughter so I don’t really have a choice.
Slice: Are you weary of starting new relationships out of fear that you will end up a mistress again?
S: I am definitely weary of starting new relationships. I don’t fear I will ever be with an MM again because I would never allow myself to be in that position. I learned my lesson the first time and I will definitely date single men from now on.
Slice: Do you regret your past affairs?
S: I don’t regret my past affair because I learned so many things about myself and it helped me grow as a person. I am thankful for the time we spent together and especially for our beautiful daughter.
Slice: If you could say anything to your MM’s wife, what would you say?
S: I don’t have anything to say to his wife.
Slice: How would you describe your experience with Sarah?
S: My experience with Sarah was wonderful. She has a heart of gold and wants to help people like us so the same mistake doesn’t continue to happen. She helped me through one of the toughest times of my life. She was able to look at the entire picture from an outside perspective. I am so grateful for the experience.
